Explore how seasonality, the weather, lighting and timing all come together to provide the atmosphere in photographs of the natural world.

This session focused on lighting and timing in your photography will help you get the best out of natural lighting conditions, including when and how to use reflectors. Plus how to use shadows to your advantage.

Course Overview

The 90-minute, live, online session will be delivered by photography and nature expert, Fran Halsall. During the session you can expect;

  • Introduction to ‘Lighting and timing’
  • Lighting conditions
  • Reflectors
  • Shadows
  • Shooting techniques
  • Equipment


Join online – Saturday 14th November 4.30pm

Each session is limited to 15 people to ensure quality and includes:

  • Five-minute tea break half-way through
  • Short Q&A at the end for support on specific topics
  • Recording of the Zoom meeting, to download and rewatch at your leisure
  • PDF version of the tutorial that will help you develop your photography.
